Rematch Is The Soccer Game I Didnt Know I Needed After Ea Sports Fc 25 Let Me Down

There is no better system around for couch multiplayer—especially NAGA169 one you can easily pack up and take with you. The Switch 2 is its own beast, and it takes the 8-year-old design of the original Switch and allows it to compete—and beat—the growing number of handheld platforms available today. With more horsepower for high-fidelity games like Cyberpunk 2077 and a slate of already-announced Nintendo-only games coming this year and next, we have very little fear that there will be a dearth of compelling titles for the Switch 2. Nintendo’s new game console is no Sony PS5/PS5 Pro or Microsoft Xbox Series S/X, but at least it now has the performance to last well into the future. Most of these third party games don’t have any extra content, beyond maybe a few extra motion controls, but Yakuza 0 goes further by adding new cut scenes and a brand new online multiplayer mode.

So long as there’s no drought of big game releases—like there were in the dark GameCube and Wii U days—Nintendo may just “1-Up” itself with the Switch 2. Nintendo wanted GameChat to be such a defining feature on Switch 2 that it put a “C” button on all its first-party controllers. The button allows you to quickly send or receive calls and change video settings without going to the main menu. You can only send calls to friends over Switch Online, and you need to provide a phone number when you first try the feature.

Fantasy Life I: The Girl Who Steals Time Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

Specific interests include indie games, obscure Metroidvanias, speedrunning, experimental games and FPSs. He thinks Lulu by Metallica and Lou Reed is an all-time classic that will receive its due critical reappraisal one day. As unwieldy as the setup may seem on paper, Avowed maintains an admirable focus during its 50-odd hours. And I thought I would, given this is a game with a dynamic glossary accessible mid-conversation, à la Final Fantasy 16.

He has previously worked at Den of Geek, Stealth Optional and Dennis Publishing. The big question is whether that justifies the £49.99 price tag. Considering the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions can be picked up relatively cheap these days (around £20), we’d recommend going for those instead, for the most polished wizarding role-playing experience. If Nintendo systems are your only option though, this is a substantial improvement over the original Switch port in every way.

The Best And Biggest Games Of 2025 So Far

A sort of cross between Final Fantasy and Animal Crossing, the idea is that you lead a relatively mundane life in a fantasy world, taking the role of not just mercenary and mage, but also a cook and woodcutter. There are only three reviews on Metacritic, for 80, 90, and another 90. If nothing else, this wins the award for the longest game name this year, and the Switch 2 already has a number of contenders for that accolade. We’ve not played these particular remasters but we imagine they’re identical to the ones released last year. Suikoden 2 in particular is an all-time classic and we’ve reviewed it many times before, as it’s one of the best role-playing games of the PS1 era, with some interesting strategy elements. The frustrating thing about all this is that there’s no master list of available titles for the Switch 2 and Nintendo has made no effort to highlight third party titles, so it’s been difficult to even draw up a list of titles that were released on June 5.

Not necessarily the worst game Nintendo has ever made but certainly the dullest. This well meaning interactive exhibit describes, in painstaking detail, what the Switch 2 can do and how it works. This can be quite interesting but the minimalist presentation and thoroughly un-entertaining mini-games make it a slog to get through, even if it is very cheap. Split Fiction is the newest game from the co-op masterminds at Hazelight Studios, a two-player adventure through the many stories of two authors trapped in worlds of their own creation. South of Midnight delights with its looks and soundtrack, which is much better than anyone could expect. It’s a shame, though, that aesthetic experience isn’t followed by equally great gameplay.

Two Point Museum Review

I won’t say much about how it turned out other than that, while I did see one big reveal coming a mile away, there was more to it that caught me off guard in a way that made me smile. I don’t think it’s much of a spoiler to say that the Rat King does not turn out to be The Joker, and in fact Camouflaj is admirably restrained in its use of Batman’s nemesis. After the big, eye-rolling reveal of Arkham Origins, and the enormous posthumous role he played in Arkham Knight, leaning on that crutch once again would’ve annoyed me to no end; I breathed a sigh of relief when other characters got some time in the spotlight. Perhaps that’s not the kind of game Avowed wants to be; it definitely succeeds on the somewhat humbler terms of a narrative-driven action RPG with memorable characters, a gorgeous world, and really fun combat. Just imagine if one day, these separate Obsidian tracks—spicy, reactive CRPGs and sumptuous first-person narrative adventures—perfectly intersect. Some of the missable sidequests, particularly in the first area, take me places other studios would want to frontload in the opening hours of the main quest.

Playing a graphics-intensive game like Cyberpunk 2077, we ran out of juice at exactly two hours. The Steam Deck OLED will do slightly better on battery life overall, but you’d have to look at $800 handhelds like the Asus ROG Ally X with its bigger battery capacity for anything better. Future versions of the Switch 2 may improve on battery life, but Nintendo would likely charge more for that, like they did with the Switch OLED. You can improve battery life by limiting refresh rate and HDR, but let’s be honest, most of us would prefer a higher-quality experience over playing for longer. If you’re noticing really poor battery life and think something might be up, you may need to put the Switch 2 into “recovery mode,” which should reset the battery indicator so that it’s actually accurate.

Where Outlaws’ quest design really excels, though, is in taking seemingly innocuous side objectives and spinning them out into exciting, multi-staged adventures that regularly took me by surprise. One memorable example of this is the quest that sends you to find an upgrade part, but one thing leads to another – and another and another and another – and suddenly you’re emerging from a sarlacc’s maw and straight into an exciting escape from a huge sandworm. It’s the lively, left-turn stretches like these where Outlaws really shines by stringing together countless Star Wars references and Uncharted-style moments of spectacular action and adventure, and there are plenty of quests like this that I’ve undertaken so far. Given how I passed by plenty of sidequest opportunities that looked just as innocuous as this one at first glance, there are likely many more that I haven’t found yet, too. Yet at other times it was wildly unpredictable, like when I’d somehow trigger an alarm performing a stealth takedown even though it appeared that no one else was around. Instead, more often than I’d like my efforts to remain hidden would evaporate, things would get loud, and a number of other problems would present themselves.
